Advent- and Christmas decoration from

blueberry bushes (or other stuff......)

In memory of a very dear friend of mine, I would like to share with you a nice hint that she once gave to me. She was a genious in making beautiful things from nearly nothing.

This is a decoration that I cherish  very much. And it's easy to change the decoration from Advent to Christmas time.

Take your time to make a walk into the countyside. By us the blueberry bushes are growing, so that's my favourite, but a lot of small plants may be of the same use. Maybe you'll find some moss or some cones as well. Brown, dried flowers or straws may also be of use. So, activate your imagination and it's incredible what you may find outdoors to use. It's also possible to decorate with very small branches. If you spay them with white, silver or gold they will be very nice in a decoration.

The bare, green blueberry bushes are very decorative. If you put them in a small vase or flowerpot, and water them, it will soon appear small light green leaves. For practical purpose it's clever to put some stuff you get at the flowershop in the bottom to make the bushes stay firm. (In Norwegian it's named "Oasis". Sorry I don't know the name in English. If you know, please mail me.......)

If you put in a pair of cones and attach a violet bow, you'll have a sweet Advent decoration. Just remeber to water now and then. And then, for Christmas it's just to replace the violet bow with a red one, put in a few red decoration mushrooms and a small Santa - and you have a nice Christmas decoration instead. In stead of bows and ribbons it's possible to use a nice decorated candle-ring.

Another item that's very nice in such decorations is dried slices of Orange. Just cut an orange into thin slices, place on baking paper on a baking tray, and place in the owen at approx. 100 degr.C  (212 degr. F) Let the slices be left in the owen until completely dried.
